With how it used to be, you could use the motion in automations easily to do stuff, but with it being an event sensor, you don’t even know its status, and it cannot even be used in automations easily. There is little difference between the last activity and motion now, if the binary sensor came back, it would be easier to make automations with the motion binary sensors
Agree. It’s really annoying that one day this just changed and now all my automations are broken. I never updated HA or anything. One of my biggest issues with Home Assistant is the constant changes and things breaking. I get that features are trying to be made better but the constant feature breaking of stuff in what I would consider a live production is getting old.
…like really? No updates aplied. Just something that was working now broken… I can’t even figure out what needs to be adjusted to make this work again. This is a complete fail on the developers.
