I’m using the Broadlink rm4 mini on Home Assistant to control a AC unit and things work well. There’s just one thing that’s kinda annoying - the device never shows as Offline or Unavailable when it’s unplugged or when the WiFi is off. Please see attached screenshot
That toggle has been that way for over 2 hours since I unplugged the Broadlink Device - is there no native feature that let’s me know if the device is offline or online? I don’t want to ping the IP to know that.
Ikr - for now, I’m using the Ping (ICMP) integration. I just find it cumbersome having to figure out the ip and then make it static etc. cuz I have many devices on the network
I have a webhook automation using jinja templates in choose blocks to monitor when new devices connect to the network, when devices drop from the network, and when devices reconnect to the network (all at my choosing of which devices) that will send me a mobile notification.
It will pull the local domain name of the device if it has one, as long as the device itself is reporting it or as long as you named it in your router. Otherwise you can rename the device within NetAlertX. As far as the category, that’s something you have to tinker with when editing the device within NetAlertX.
I use my router integration to tell me when my RM3 is down. it goes down so often I put it on a smartplug so I can yell at it to reset…Perhaps you have similar data on a router integration.
I’m using pfsense.
