I have just installed 2 Broadlink SP4L-EU. Both the plugs are working fine with the broadlink app and within google home.
Unfortunately in HA I see only one device (the first one I added). I tried manually to add the second plug but within the broadlink app, weird enough, I see the same IP address for both the plugs.
Yup, that’s what they’re designed to do. The first one connects through your LAN, and the rest create a “mesh” and only talk to that first one.
I found that I had to create a separate account, using a unique e-mail address, for each Broadlink device. Then, one by one, I could add each one to HA. I first set up a static IP address and a firewall rule in the router to block each device from accessing the internet. My notes show the following steps:
Unplug all devices except the one being re-connected
Disable blocking for that one device’s IP address in the router
Disable Mobile data on cell phone
Connect phone WiFi to Broadlink device to be paired
Run BroadLink app on phone
Enter device name, associated e-mail account and password
Proceed through add process
Re-connect phone WiFi to Broadlink device again
Edit in the app to correct name (removed “First…” prefix)
De-select “Locked” in app
Re-add the device in HA
Verify device functions normally from HA
Re-enabl blocking this device from accessing the internet in the router
