Broken external access with DuckDNS

I could not access my Home assistant instance today. My SSL certificate had expired. When accessing locally I could see the DuckDNS addon was inactive and was not able to update the certificate. When I tried to start the DuckDNS addon I got an error. I unistalled the addon and got another error, after second try the addon disappeared. When trying to install the DuckDNS addon I got the following error:

Can’t install homeassistant/aarch64-addon-duckdns:1.15.0: 500 Server Error for http+docker://localhost/v1.41/images/homeassistant/aarch64-addon-duckdns:1.15.0/json: Internal Server Error (“layer does not exist”)

Is there something I can do to solve the duckdns addon or update the certificate myself?

Hi,
Did you manage to solve this issue? I have the same error since yesterday evening and after searching for a while I cant find any way to solve it. I can only log in through chrome on my android phone. Did a partial and then full backup of HA but to no avail.

I believe it did not get solved. I did switch over to using a tunnel via CloudFlare. This is one video showing how to set this up: Secure Remote Access to Home Assistant with Cloudflare Proxy - YouTube

I’m using this now which works great, but you do need to have a domain name for this I believe, but did go for the cheapest which is not much for every year and then you get your custom domain which is pretty neat.
