⚪ Bubble Card - A minimalist card collection for Home Assistant with a nice pop-up touch

Today I was working on the different PC and reinstalled beta4 (for test purpose). After I reload frontpage, it’s start working properly :man_shrugging:

Bubble Card 3

v3.0.0-beta.5

If you missed the previous beta releases, please check this changelog (and earlier ones) to discover all the new features and fixes added so far.

Hi everyone!

This new beta should finally fix the last remaining issues from the previous versions, with a few final touches to polish everything!

If you still notice any new bugs, please let me know! We’re very close to the stable release, and I couldn’t have made it this far without your feedback!

As always, a huge thank you to all the testers for your time, support, and patience! :beers:

:bulb: New features and enhancements

  • Adjust card height (rows) in all views:
This feature was previously removed, but it’s now back and improved! You can now change the number of rows for any card using a large layout, in any view type, including inside pop-ups! #1441

  • More visual feedback on click/tap:
Buttons on cover cards, media player cards, and the pop-up close button now show the usual feedback animation when tapped or clicked. This feedback is now (finally) consistent across all interactive elements!

  • Editor info texts:
Some info texts in the editor were improved to make things clearer.

  • Pop-up editor improvement:
You can now scroll inside the preview when editing long pop-ups.

  • German translation added:
The calendar card now supports German, thanks to @Wesk89! :de: PR #1438

:heavy_check_mark: Bug fixes and optimizations

  • iOS tap action fix:
Fixed an issue where tap actions could become unreliable on iOS devices. #1439

  • Default module issue:
Prevented an issue where removing {} in the code editor could break other modules.

  • Media player card fixes:

    • The power button is back when the entity state is off #1440
    • The volume slider now correctly shows the fill and value.
  • Slider button with media player entity:
The slider is now displayed correctly. #1429

  • Condition selector fix:
Finally fixed an issue with the condition selector in modules. This also fix my Conditional icon badges module.

  • Default color compatibility:
Fixed a bug where the new default color didn’t render correctly in older browsers. #1429

  • Button card actions fix:
Default actions for button cards now behave as expected. #1437

  • Fixed removeChild error:
Resolved a rare Failed to execute 'removeChild' on 'Node' error.

How to test this beta?

Go to HACS, search for Bubble Card, and click on it. Then, click the three dots icon in the top-right corner and select “Redownload”. You’ll be able to choose the beta version under “Need a different version?”. You can then change back to your previous version if needed.

Open Bubble Card on Home Assistant Community Store (HACS).

Hello, I’m not sure if it was supposed to be fixed, but for the select card, the mouse pointer doesn’t change on clickable areas (for select that would be the entire card area, including the dropdown arrow).

Also, the background highlight on hover is still missing on all cards (and their icons, which have a seperate on hover background highlight). I guess that’s the last feature to bring bubble card on par with default cards, at least with home assistant default styling.

Thank you!

Haha, I almost added the hover animations just before releasing this beta, but I will add this, I was just a bit tired

Edit: The missing cursor is done!

Hi
FYI I downloaded beta 5 (or that’s what HACS confirmed I downloaded - however it is actually 2.4.0 (the non Beta release) that’s installing. I tried several times, same result, so tried Beta 4 and that DID download the correct Beta 4 code.
It appears to me beta 5 is incorrectly downloading 2.4.0
Hope this makes sense - I verified the versions (being reported) when editing a bubble card (the version number of bubblecard shows on the bottom of the screen when in edit. Mode.
Hood thus is helpful.

Hi! This is a random HACS issue, here’s how to fix it:

Thanks
Read through (fairly complex to me ), cleared the tablet companion app cache, checked resources - not sure what I’m exactly looking for there other than I did no see any bubblecard references in resources so didn’t change anything there - problem (not yours HACS) persists. I’ll try message the HACS person you had contact with and offer to try send debug reports to try track this down - if they can guide me through what they need, since I seem to have the fault working perfectly :joy:

Anyone know why the “My Modules” and “Module Store” would be stuck? I’ve tried on mobile/browser, and also tried downloading multiple versions.

I can’t click on these and its stuck on the “Module store”.

Hi! Can you tell me more about your config? What HA version do you have, do you have some custom dashboard or anything not standard?

Because the editor should looks like this:

It’s the beta version of Home Assistant in which they have updated some dashboard changes, like entity picking etc. I got the same issue but I thought to wait to the official release of HA to report bug if any. 2025.5: Beta release notes for this QoL release - Home Assistant

Thanks @Cloos

I’ve been on HA Beta and just tried downloading the latest Beta 6 today that was released hoping it would fix it, but no luck.

This happens on both desktop, mobile, and with any theme including HA Default theme.

I’m using “section view” for a dashboard and other than a couple decluttering card templates in my raw config everything is pretty standard.

I have the bubble card folder under my www folder and there’s only 1 style template in it.

Hi, I really enjoy using bubble card, but I have a question.
I tried searching on internet for days, after looking at your guide for styling as well, but I can’t find a clear answer for my doubt.

It is possible to dinamically change an icon, in horizontal button stack, based on the state of an entity?
Like, for example, I have a home alarm button, if alarm is armed display an icon (different image) when it is disarmed another icon.
Thanks!

Have you checked this section: GitHub - Clooos/Bubble-Card: Bubble Card is a minimalist card collection for Home Assistant with a nice pop-up touch. ?

Yes, I’ve checked several times. I have succesfully changed the color of the icons on the horizontal button stack based on different conditions but the icon image no.
With the ordinary bubble button card I have no issues doing anything.

This is a section of my dashboard:

I would really love to change the icon of the last button to match actual weather.

Ok I’m off beta and I still have this issue. :grimacing:

Hi everyone,

I use Bubble Cards on my iPhone. I always have a fixed edge on the dashboard, just below the notch. Do you know how I can, for example, completely cover a wallpaper on my iPhone? Thank you very much, and keep up the good work.

For that I use a template sensor, there you can specify any icon depending on state. But might be better ways.

I update homeassistant to 2025.5 and now i can’t select “My Modules” and “Module Store” :frowning:

maybe someone can help me.
how can i change the background-color grey from the big icon?

Same issue!
