Building He shed / office - Design help and ideas for cool automation

Hello,

I’m new to Raspberry Pi 5 and Home Assistant and will have a steep learning curve as I get it set up and running. Professionally I install / program / work with HVAC Building automation controls and look forward to learning something new.

However, I’m in immediate help. I’m in the process of building a 12 x 14 lean too He shed / office. I want to integrate some cool automations. I’m at a crossroad of installing control / power wiring now while the stud framing is exposed.

Wanted projects needing solutions:

Window controls - I have (3) Mil guard Awning windows with hand cranks to open windows but cannot find a solution, (motor, actuator or stepper motor), to open and close them. Idea is for free cooling and ventilation as need based air temps and CO2 levels inside shed. I would also like to add motorized roller shades.

Outside Cameras:
What is the preferred method of communication and power: POE, Battey, 24-volt, 115volt, Cat5, Z Wave, Zigbee.

Lighting controls:
Will be using Govee 6" round RGB lighting for interior and exterior lighting. What is the recommended light switch for bypassing Home Assistant and separate Mode selector? I’m thinking I need (3) switches (Decora Smart Z-Wave 800 Series Dimmer) for interior lights (Govee 6"), porch lights (Govee Porch RGB) and roof overhang soffit lights (Govee 6") to turn on/off as needed pre and post HA installation. Then a 4th like a Scene Wall Switch Controller, 4 Z-Wave Button, Zwave 800 Series. Any better options?

Weather Station:
Recommended devices to be installed.

Entertainment Center:
Recommended devices / relays for controlling TV, Soundbar, LED back light, and In-wall Electric fireplace.

Thank you,

Joe
