Button names in HomeKit using device name

Was wondering, has this ever been fixed? Whenever I create an input select in Home Assistant (which shows up as a power step in HomeKit), I have to manually clear the names of each button in the Home App to get the correct name to show up.

I don’t even have to type the name in, it’s already there once I clear the original device name - but I have to manually clear each name first for the correct name to show up. And sometimes this affects the layout and arrangement of the buttons.

Is this still a thing, or am I missing something/doing something wrong?

Apple changed how this works a few versions of iOS back, and the only option we have to set the button names is to force setting the configured name which mean if we set them you can’t change them so we opted not do to that.

Oh ok, when you say force setting the name, what does that mean? Is that something in the backend that requires programming? Just curious, thanks!
