C1101 and keeloq Merlin M842 garage door opener

I have a custom circuit that is known to work correctly (i.e. it can decode other RF devices of the same 433.02MHz frequency) that I want to have receive and decode the keeloq signal from a Merlin M842 garage door remote control.
Using the ‘dump’ option of the ‘remote_receiver’ for both ‘raw’ and ‘keeloq’, I see the signals from the other devices and sometime some varying length numbers from the ‘raw’ dume as in:

[12:42:48.759][I][remote.raw:035]: Received Raw: 579, -3032, 276, -427, 226, -1801
[12:42:52.459][I][remote.raw:035]: Received Raw: 551, -3027, 525, -326, 75, -50, 100, -200, 375, -802, 226, -50
[12:43:32.200][I][remote.raw:035]: Received Raw: 529, -2938, 653, -326, 75, -751, 76, -1004
[12:45:10.805][I][remote.raw:035]: Received Raw: 573, -4525

More often than not I get nothing shown.
I ‘think’ the signal uses Manchester encoding with a symbol rate of 2000. Setting those non-default values sometimes gives me:

[12:48:43.197][I][remote.raw:035]: Received Raw: 1062
[12:48:43.207][I][remote.raw:035]: Received Raw: 187, -125, 125, -62, 4121, -937, 686, -125
[12:48:58.550][I][remote.raw:035]: Received Raw: 939
[12:48:58.602][I][remote.raw:035]: Received Raw: 1817, -62, 312, -2132, 1695, -9273
[12:49:05.350][I][remote.raw:035]: Received Raw: 1001
[12:49:05.380][I][remote.raw:035]: Received Raw: 125, -1314

There is still nothing is the ‘keeloq’ dump.

Does anyone have settings for the C1101 and remote_receiver components that successfully interprets the keeloq sequence from this or similar garage remote controls?

(And yes I know that this is not the end of the story due to the ‘rolling code’ nature of signal but at least this is a start.)

433.92MHz.
And I suspect Merlin uses FSK.
Capturing KeeLoq over FSK on esphome can be tricky, afaik remote_receiver works only for OOK.
Leave a side rolling code…
I honestly think it would be much easier to get spare remote and wire the buttons to esp. Or wire esp to the receiver.

Thanks @Karosm for your reply.

As I said, this is the start of the journey - I want it to also monitor what other remotes are doing for the garage door so HA keeps track of the state of the door. Its a 'two way" operation that I eventually want to get to. (And yes I know that each remote has its own code.)

Therefore your suggestions might do half the task and that is why I want to understand how to capture the signals.

So, does anyone have any definitive information as to the signal and how to have the C1101 capture it?

Susan

Garage doors are tricky. Usually they use rolling codes and a pairing procedure, so you may need something to decode and replay those.
