I’m trying to calculate my daily energy consumption using Victron Modbus or mqtt in Home Assistant. However, I’ve encountered a challenge: Victron does not provide a direct consumption value via Modbus. Instead, I can access values like battery charge/discharge and solar yield.
The Problem:
• Battery Discharge Value: This stops increasing when solar power is available, even though there is still consumption.
How do you accurately calculate energy consumption with Victron systems in Home Assistant?
• Are there any workarounds or additional sensors I can use?
• The VRM Portal does display consumption, so theoretically, the data must be available somewhere.
