I really like to see some new features for calendar. For example drag en dorp and more advanced features like travel time and many more. Why ask? Because I really like to start using the native calendar from home assistant as main calendar but it stil missing some features. I tink the iCloud calendar is great example. Unfortunately I am not a developer so that’s why I leave it here.

While I do concur with you that calendar improving would be a very nice thing to have, one must also contend with the fact that the limited resources may be spent better in improving other parts of home assistant, especially given that there are so many excellent and full-featured calendar applications.
By the way, have you seen NextCloud calendar? With NextCloud you can have a fully sovereign and self-hosted PIM solution that covers calendaring and synchronization with any device you want, including home assistant. We use it at home for our family calendars, as well as the chores, and a bunch of other things. It integrates beautifully with Home Assistant. And since the actual NC calendaring application is so good, and our phones’ calendars are excellent and synchronize with nextcloud, having our calendars on display in a Home Assistant tablet to see what needs to be done is very handy, but we don’t need the editing features. We can even fire automations on calendar entries in Home Assistant. Thanks to nextcloud!
I am planning to setup my own home server soon and I will definitely look at nextcloud. Yes there are a lot off good calendars as you point out. But stil the iCloud with caldav integration ore just te basic calendar don’t work for me right now. iCloud caldav calendar has bugs and the basic calendar is little to basic. Again don’t wanna hate.

Mac calendaring is buggy most definitely. Can’t tell you how i know lol.
