Camera-live feed on Android tablet when motion detected

Setup:

  • Latest version HA on Raspberry Pi 4b
  • Arlo-camera integration
  • Wall mounted tablet (Android 14)
  • Fully Kiosk browser
  • Sony Bravia TV (2020 model running Android-TV with build-in chromecast)

I have a working automation that when motion detected on camera:

  • Turns on the Sony TV
  • Streams the camera-live feed for 30 seconds
  • Turns of the Sony TV

When duplicating this automation and selecting the Tablet as the ‘target’, I’m unable to select the Camera-feed as “Media”. It shows that the entities are not compatible.

I don’t understant why the camera feeds are incompatible when selecting the Tablet as the target, while the tablet is android, and the TV is also android.

The tablet runs Fully Kiosk Browser and the dashboard on it contains camera-cards which can be tapped and run the live feed perfectly fine. Fully Kiosk is configured to allow video and audio in the web-content settings.

Does anyone has ideas how to get this solved?

(PS. Browser-mod integration won’t work because it’s an Arlo-camera integration, the seperate camera feeds are not accessible via IP on ONVIF or whatever…)

You can do this with the advanced camera card

Could you extend on that? I’ve installed the Advance Camera card via HACS…
