So I have a Bluetti AC200L that is basically acting as UPS for my home network. But I would want to see if I can enable it to be used to consumed my solar power rather than putting it on the net.
So I looked into bluetti2mqtt
But the problem is this integration works by connecting via Bluetooth, rather than network.
My HA OS installation runs in a VM on a Unraid server, which in turn runs on a Dell R730 server. Not built-in Bluetooth, and I rather not try to install a Bluetooth Dongle in USB, which might have all kinds of compatibility issues when feeding through. (I know I can do it…but let’s first see other potential options)
So from where I stand, I currently see 3 options (from preferred to less preferred):
Find a way to manage it over network : it’s to keep my network running in the event of a power outage, so it would remain reachable when power is lost…at least until the battery finished.
Buying myself a device to make it a bluetooth proxy and integrate with ESP Home. For example: slzb-06
Question is: with the bluetti2mqtt integration suppport that kind of set up? Additionally, if in the future I want to apply more zigbee devices in the network, I know I can have double function, but unclear if it can then add at the gateway of the zigbee network.
Buying a BT USB dongle and pass it through in my server. (which according to the Bluetooth integration page, is not the best practice anyway)
My intention here is to see what others have done, look for advice, prior to making any costs. Thanks in advance for the feedback.
I have the same desire, to view and control my bluetti over wifi.
I have home assistant and a Bluetti elite on which I’d like to have some automations.
Both devices are on my network, has nobody done this before? I don’t have the skills
I could learn how to connect to it over Bluetooth, but ive always found Bluetooth to be unreliable.
I did this with marginal success. I have a Home Assistant Green with a Sena USB Bluetooth Adapter UD100-G03. The Bluetooth Adapter pulls info from a LiTime 12v lithium battery via the HACS BLE Battery Management System integration. I also have Bluetti to MQTT using the same Bluetooth dongle.
We have two AC500 and four B300S online. Bluetti to MQTT does read them successfully but the connection doesn’t stay up. The Home Assistant Green server is farther away from the Bluetti equipment than I would like. But I don’t think distance is the main issue as I can usually restore connectivity by rebooting the HA server or by rebooting the AC500’s. If it was a distance issue I would not expect rebooting to fix it, even if it is temporary.
By connecting the AC500’s and our generator to HA, I could automatically turn on the generator when battery power is low and turn it off when the batteries are charged. I have everything worked out, but unfortunately the lack of a consistent Bluetti to MQTT connection has been a real issue. I wish Bluetti released a local (preferred) or cloud API so we could get this kind of information over a WiFi connection rather than Bluetooth.
I am reading my EP760 using an ESP32 bluetooth proxy… reasonably reliably…
I also have an AC200L which I am reading the settings from, using a modified version of the device files. I can set some things from home assistant as well.
I want to move it to TCP/IP as well… but I haven’t figured out how to do it…
Also the newer units come with encryption turned on thus the bluetooth connection won’t work… which is a real bummer, the APEX300 for example simply doesn’t work.
