Hello - I have Andrio Companion app set up and have use it for a long time - works great! I’m currently on version 2026.3.2-full.
I have used a VPN to access my home remotely but recently had some issues with CG-NAT in that config because of a new Internet provider. To work around I have started using Cloudflare tunnels. This works fine from a web browser but I’d like my companion app to use the URL.
What I’d like is for the companion app to connect directly when it’s on my home WiFi network and use the tunnel DNS name to connect when it’s not. Is it possible to configure this? I couldn’t find a way.
Thanks, yes, I’ve done that. And I have the homeassistant URL filled in as http://:8123. There is an option for “Internal Connection URL” as well and “Remote Connection Security Level” but there doesn’t seem to be an option for a public side address.
Note, as I said, I have used the VPN before but I’m moving away from that to a Cloudflare published app. That works, but it doesn’t switch over from what I can see.
That’s what the HA URL is, the one that will ALWAYS work.
Enter your WiFi credentials under Home Network and then add your internal connection URL (the one that only works at home). It will only try to use this address when you’re on your home WiFi, otherwise it will use the HA URL.
