Has anyone tried to repurpose the facebook portal to run home assistant.
As meta have now totally abandoned the facebook portal I was wondering whether it can be reprogrammed.

Facebook Portal was/is a smart screen.
They want to use it as a host for Home Assistant.
It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and 4GB of RAM. The bootloader has been cracked so I guess it could be done using some flavour of Android and the unofficial HA core Android install (search the forum).
Honestly it would be a nightmare to keep running though.
Not worth the effort.
Running an official HA install elsewhere and installing Android on the portal so that it could run the HA companion app would be a better use for it.
