I have 2 Homepod Minis that are connected to HA and all is working good. Except - only the 'owner' of the Apple Home can add Matter devices (as apparently only that account has the Thread credentials). This is a bit annoying as I have to grab my wife's phone to add any new devices. I'm trying to find a way to resolve this:
copying Thread credentials to my iPhone somehow?
or can I add a ZBT-2 and have it be provisioned into the existing Thread network and then I can add devices?
I would rather not have to start over and re-pair all my devices..
Your wife's phone has the Apple Thread credentials.
Follow these directions to get the credentials from your wife's phone (using the HA Companion APP) sent to HA. Once HA has these, it can now use its OTBR+ZBT-2 to join the Apple Thread network.
You should now also be able to take the mobile device of your choosing that has the HA Companion App and send the credentials from HA to that device. With this, you can use this mobile device w. HA Companion App to commission new devices.
Sorry I thought you already had a ZBT-2. I don't think you really had to have a ZBT-2. I think you could still follow the directions above, as long as the Thread Integration sees your Apple Thread border router, it should be able to get the credentials from your wife's phone and then send them to your phone.
