Can I change the conversation agent of my Voice Assist from within an automation?

Specifically; if it’s possible to change the global ‘preferred’ assistant via automation?

I use a cloud based assistant & have an automation to detect if the property internet goes down, if internet is unavailable, I would like to use automation to change the preferred assistant to a local one that we also have running.

I’d like to be able to change the conversation agent of the default assistant so that I can switch between multiple LLMs programatically.

I have the same request, as I prefer to use a fast cloud open-source LLM such as Cerebras/llama-3.3-70b, but whan the internet goes down I tolerate the delay of using Ollama/Phi4 that runs on the same Proxmox/TrueNAS mini-pc together with the HAOS VM.

I like it insanely fast (Cerebras), but slow is better than none.
