Can I delete .conf files

The integration is described at this page.

I set this up initially when it was Nexia. I transitioned to Trane when the company changed it from Nexia to Trane (I think). Both worked correctly. I believe that I removed the final integration via the UI.

There is no integration on my integrations page. I have no sensors or devices related to either.

Trying to add in the integration to get it going again, I get this:

I find two related files:

  • nexia_config_xxx.conf
  • trane_config_xxx.conf

where xxx is my user name.

There is also a line in the config > Storage > core.config_entries file.

I am thinking the files confuse Home Assistant and I should delete them.

I could also delete the line out of the core.config_entries file.

Are either of these changes safe? Is there some other way of getting rid of these

Hello Ted,

Manually deleting files and editing the stuff in .storage is not a good idea.
Make sure you have backups and that you have tested that you know how to restore your backups…

Rather than delete, I would recommend just renaming them to .old instead of .conf and then see if anything changes. If things are ok or better for a while, then go ahead and delete them.
