Check in System / repairs / system information (click the three dots on the right to access) and scroll down to see your database type.
You know you can initiate a manual backup from the Backup screen in the settings / system screen.
Does Proxmox also support snapshots?
If you already are running Proxmox, make use of either taking snapshots before upgrades, over even better do proper backup Proxmox Backup Server
