Can I transfer the whole configuration using a snapshot?

I’ve been trialling HA on a virtual machine (QEMU/KVM) an have now bought a Raspberry PI 4 to run it on.

Can I use a snapshot to transfer all the configuration data?

I have theses integrations installed:
ESPHome
File editor
Grafana
InfluxDB
Samba share

I assume I would install and start HA on the PI and install the integrations then restore the snapshot from the virtual machine.

Is this that way to go?

It should be possible as long you run supervised version of HA

As far as I remember, there will be a step in the onboarding process that asks if you want to restore a snapshot. Then just use the snapshot created on your Virtual machine and upload it there.

That’s correct.
Don’t panic if nothings seems to happen after you upload and start the restore process.
Just wait patiently, in the background all the containers are being downloaded and restored.
Not much is displayed in the UI in the meantime.

Saw this answer and tried the snapshot restore at boot on a band new image on the Pi.

Wow! It restored it all as well installing interpretations!
