Can not commission matter device (Matter integration broken?)

Hello everyone,

I have recently been trying to pair some matter over wifi smart bulbs. I have not been able to do this. When I try to add it through the integration it is not working, it goes through the whole set up process searching for device - generating credentials, but when it gets to connecting device to home assistant it just fails and displays a screen saying something went wrong.

A weird thing is that the bulb believes it has been paired as it exits out of the pairing mode and it has to be factory reset to get it into pairing mode again.

I am however able to pair the device to google home, the setup process feels the same but pairs in the end and I am able to control it.

When i try to add home assistant as you can add multiple controllers, it also fails straight away, even if I also select the option for using another smart home controller and copy over the sharing code.

The only place I have been able to make it work is directly through the matter addon. I am able to share the device by using the sharing code that is generated and it successfully pairs showing 2 controllers in google home and also showing the node inside of the addon.

I am able to view all the current values of the bulb through the addon however, there is no new device or entity created and I am not able to control the bulb.

Can anyone help me as I have looked through several pages and found someone who did the same addon way as they also said the integration is not working but how am i meant to control the deice if no entitles are created?

Most of my Matter devices are Ikea Matter over Thread, but I have got a few Tapo and Switchbot Matter over Wifi devices.

I added the Tapo and Switchbot devices by using the manufactuer's apps, not directly from the Home Assistant Matter integration.

The devices were first added to the manufacturer's app as wifi devices, then "shared" with HA from within the devices configuration page in the manufacturer's app. Once this was done, they showed up in the HA Matter integration, and were available as devices/entities that could be controlled locally (without going through the manufacturer's cloud).
Basically, nearly all the same functionality as when they were normal wifi devices, but without the cloud access delays.

Since most of the Tapo devices are battery-powered sensors, the Matter link is just between HA and the Tapo Hub that they are paired with, although the infividual sensors do show up in HA as individual Matter devices. (They need the Tapo hub to work as wifi devices too).

The Switchbot vacuum cleaner doesn't need a Switchbot hub, but I still had to add it via the Switchbot app.

I have tried doing that but the manufacturers app doesn't seem to support or have a place for the device sharing feature that matter supports. I tried it in Google home and I was not able to add it through the integration but I was able to add it directly to the matter server addon. I have also tried adding the device through the pop up prompt that comes when the device is automatically detected, when I see it up through this with home assistant it got all the way to then end and said the device has been connected successfully, the bulb also blinked indicating that it has paired. However, after this a home assistant screen showed up saying pair matter device and as soon as you click the button it just says that it wasn't successful. I am not sure what to do.

Maybe someone can help if you say exactly what the device is - make and model?

Sorry, it is a Linkind smart bulb, A60 RGBTW

I was able to fix it. Weirdly the intervention was hidden but I was still able to interact with it as if it wasn't. Thank you. This has seemed to solve my issue.

There are a number of similar threads recently posted with similar symptoms and no resolution that would probably benefit if you could share what you did to solve your problem, rather than just announce you fixed it.
