Can One Card Replace Half Your Dashboard?

Hi everyone!

After many months of development, I’d like to share Home Status, a new notification and awareness platform for Home Assistant.

The goal isn’t to replace Home Assistant.

It’s to replace much of the dashboard clutter that builds up over time.

Instead of separate cards for:

• Weather
• Calendar
• Laundry
• Maintenance
• Appliance status
• Security awareness
• News
• Notifications
• Camera context

Home Status combines them into one clean Notification Center designed for phones, tablets, and desktop dashboards.

Some highlights:

:white_check_mark: Modern minimalist design
:white_check_mark: Large Notification Center that’s easy to read from across the room
:white_check_mark: Responsive phone, tablet, and desktop layouts
:white_check_mark: Live awareness for alarms, doors, windows, locks, and leaks
:white_check_mark: Built-in timeline and ticker
:white_check_mark: Navigation drawer with quick access to your existing dashboards
:white_check_mark: Guided onboarding
:white_check_mark: Visual configuration editor
:white_check_mark: Optional YAML for advanced users

The phone layout isn’t just a smaller tablet. It’s designed around usability and control with quick music controls, navigation buttons, and essential awareness.

The tablet layout focuses on awareness and readability.

I’m looking for early testers and honest feedback.

Especially:

• Would this replace cards in your dashboard?
• What information would you want added?
• Was setup easy?
• Was anything confusing?
• What would keep you from using it?

I’d love to hear what you think!

Betteridge’s law applies (for me).

Fair point. “Half” was intentionally provocative. My goal isn’t to replace every dashboard—it’s to reduce dashboard clutter by turning dozens of passive status cards into one active notification center.

My Dashboards !

So the answer to your first Question would be, No

I’m old and I had to look that up… pretty funny. And usually true.

I see a lot of people posting (here and FB) all these new plug-n-play dashboards. Hey, that is cool by me, if there are people that want to use them vs create their own more power to them. They are very pretty.

Yes i can agree on your point, absurd is that Dev’s put an effort in creating basic “Forced” dashboards, and new Users, do everything they can ( and using AI ) to created NEW Dashboards and solutions like this Integration… The Lame Built-in Forced Dashboards just shows that " Those Are Not What People Want "

More power to ya man, all i really wanted to see was if anyone may be interested in trying it and giving some feedback honestly. If you ever made/created something before in life, it just makes sense to see what people are interested in. i started this for someone who was new to HA and wasn’t into tinkering like myself, and they loved it, and I put a lot of time into it as well, I just figured I’d throw it out on the ol interwebs and see if she stuck, thanks for looking anyway.

Did you even take a look at it? Just wondering if people are just turned off by the look of the card? Or don’t understand what the use case is for themselves. all it really is an adjustable lovelace card with a stock ticker, pics just show a full sized config that can be used.

I had to look it up as well! i was like is this supposed to be an insult? lol I’m old as well but, just old enough not to get bent out of shape over a forum post, and young enough to have a healthy online discussion.

I only look at the screenshot in here ,and yes for sure for many new users as well as others this could be interesting a cool feature/integration ( In specific users who are not “comfortable” in i.e yaml, and templates etc ) And for new users in particular as the “default” builtin dashboards really sucks !

I have built extensive dashboards for my needs, during the years, so yes i could just have kept my “point of view” for my self
So another time, don’t ask such specific questions

And i.e Change Your Topic Header to the Name or short Description of your Integration.
Instead of an Open Questions !
