Candeo C202 vs Samotech SM323v2 - Flicker

I have recently installed a smart dimmer to control 5 LED GU10 lights, the first one I tried was the Candeo C202 which I noticed would flicker at full brightness but not when dimmed. Following the advice I found online I installed a bypass (C130) but this made no difference.

Thinking it was the dimmer to blame, I installed a Samotech dimmer (SM323v2) which is even worse at full brightness but again, fine when dimmed.

The Samotech has a built in voltage and energy meter and I have noticed that the voltage drops almost to zero when the lights are at full brightness which is when the flickering happens, when I set the dimmer to 75% the voltage is just above 30v and the lights don’t flicker.

Would anyone know what is causing this voltage drop and how to stop it? are the dimmers the problem? both the Candeo and the Samotech are designed for no neutral wiring so should be fine in this situation.

Hi @Neiphos,

Hopefully you’ve found a solution since posting, or have been in touch with us directly. If not, could you please let us know the wattage of the bulbs?

Also, have you had a chance to try the dimmers on a different light circuit?

Thanks,

Candeo

Did you link the L and N terminals on the Samotech dimmer like it shows in the wiring diagram?
