Cannot connect Aqara H2 US light switch over Zigbee with ZBT-2

Hi all, I am new to HA and am having some issues.

I have setup the ZBT-2 on the recommended Zigbee installation.

On HA I can see the ZBT-2 in Devices and Service, as well as the Zigbee Home Automation section.

With the Aqara H2 US in pairing mode, I click on add device over Zigbee and let it scan, but it never finds the H2.

The Aqara H2 US and ZBT-2 are within eye-sight and I can basically touch both of them at the same time.

The only other thing to note is there is no light on the ZBT-2 during any part of this process.

I would appreciate and feedback and questions as I am stumped and out of my element.

Aqara H2 comes with Matter/Thread firmware by default. You need to use the Aqara app & add the device there to switch it to Zigbee firmware before you can pair it. You don’t need an Aqara hub - only the app.

This worked!

I downloaded the aqara home app and setup an account.

Once the account was setup I put the switch into pairing mode and the app detected it.

It asked between Thread and Zigbee and I selcted Zigbee which cause it to update its firmware.

Once it was updated to Zigbee it was detectable on HA which setup the switch in no time.
