Hello, it’s me, the newbie, again!
I just got my SLZB-06 today, and I’ve spent the last 5 hours trying to get it set up in HA (running in a VM on a Windows machine).
I’ve tried using both ZHA and MQTT, both with the SLZB-06 connected via POE and also plugged into the USB port of the host machine (but not using ethernet as that machine isn’t near an ethernet port). No luck. I did unplug my Smartthings hub so it doesn’t interfere.
I currently have it plugged into the router’s POE injection box, and it IS showing up in my router’s devices under IP address 192.168.0.105, but I still can’t connect to it using either of the integrations.
Again, I’m a complete newbie, so I’d really appreciate any help.
Thank you!
When plugged into PoE with an IP address, I would go into HA via SSH and see if you can ping that address. If this is successful then it means HA should be able to talk to it, so its just a matter of configuring ZHA or ZigBee2MQTT properly.
I don’t use this device but did find what looks like a useful/recent YouTube video around 2:50 mins into it showing how to configure Zigbee2mqtt for it.
I’m not so sure whether slzb06.home
is correct, but you could substitute the IP address instead.
I also found another method for zigbee2mqtt to use for this device using mDNS discovery.
