The Home Assistant Green box and SkyConnect USB stick have just arrived and I’m trying to configure 3 devices to test it out:
- Hue Bulb - it was found, configured, and I can switch it on and off (haven’t tried any functionality beyond that as yet).
- Toya Zigbee Door / Window Sensor - it was found and connects. Haven’t played with it beyond that.
- Aeotec MultiSensor 6 - can’t be found.
The Aeotec MultiSensor 6 was originally part of a Samsung SmartThings network. I removed it completely and properly from there and also did a factory reset on it just to be sure. I can add it back to Samsung SmartThings, and it’s immediately found when I try to pair it. However, when I try to pair it to the SkyConnect it doesn’t find it:
- In Home Assistant I go to Settings → Devices and Services → Add Integration → Add Zigbee device (I’ve also tried Settings → Devices and Services → Zigbee Home Automation → Configure → Add Device (button).
- I then press the button on the Aeotec MultiSensor 6 which causes the LED to flash green for about 10 seconds which then flashes red briefly at the end (which indicates failure).
I have clicked ‘Show Logs’ while it is searching for a device and nothing appears (only entries about the existing connected devices).
I have also enabled ‘Debug logging’ on the Zigbee Home Automation device but I don’t see anything in the logs jump out at me about the Aeotec MultiSensor 6 either (I was hoping for some ‘trying to connect’ and then ‘failing to connect’ messages).
One thing I did see when connecting it back to Samsung SmartThings is about it being an insecure device. I don’t know if that is relevant.
I’m at a loss as to what to do, and I’m assuming the SkyConnect doesn’t support it? If that is the case, is there another USB stick I can buy to allow it to be recognised (and also use in conjunction with the SkyConnect as I know you can’t mix and match some USB sticks).
Any help greatly appreciated.
