Cannot pair brand-new Schlage Connect BE469ZP

Context:

  1. HA is up to date
  2. Using an HA ZW-2
  3. Using HA-native Z-Wave controller
  4. Lock has been reset and excluded.

If I put Z-Wave integration in “Add Device” mode and click the red button on the lock PC board, the LED flashes amber for a few seconds and then solid red.On HA, the lock has this notification:
“This device has been provisioned but is not yet included in the network.”
