Cannot reset HA Yellow with CM4

I have an HA running on Yellow with a CM4… but could never get the Silicon Labs MGM210P Mighty Gecko Module to function for Zigbee nor Matter Over Thread (and could never successfully switch firmwares).
I figured I would just factory reset, but I’m ready to ram my head into a brick wall.

I’ve watched videos and tried these steps:
Created USB key using the Pi Imager
Confirmed my yellow jumper was on USB and not UART
Tried to factory hard reset (unplug PoE, replug PoE and press/hold red button for 10 seconds.

These steps never get be a functioning yellow HA status light and never get me to a place where i can factory reset. (come to think of it, I’ve NEVER seen the yellow LED work.)
The unit just loops and reboots and fires straight into HA.

What do I do? I just want to start over fresh. I got this unit from Seeed Studio exactly a year ago. I’ve had it running, but since I could never get the ZigBee nor the Matter Over Thread to function properly, it’s just been sitting. I want to love it, but if the basic step-by-steps of factory resetting doesn’t get things going, I’m going to go bonkers.

I’ve heard that you cannot run the reset using a USB 2.0 flash drive. Is that real?
Thanks for the guidance.

Hello!
I’m sorry you’re having trouble. To factory reset your Silicon Labs MGM210P module, ensure you’re using a USB 3.0 drive instead of USB 2.0, as some IEP Direct Login modules require it. Follow the exact steps in the Silicon Labs documentation and ensure the yellow jumper is on USB.

I’ll try a usb 3 flash drive. thanks.
