Can't Boot without SD Card after moving to NVME PI5

Perhaps somebody can help me with this: I stared playing around with HOAS by using a Raspberry PI 5. We are renovating our home so I decided to incorporate a lot of new smart home gear. But I don’t trust the SD card in the PI.

So I installed a NVME drive in a PI hat and changed the boot order of the pi to NVME than USB than SD. Went tot HOAS settings > System > Storage and used the “Move Data Disk” to the NVME.

This worked perfect. But now I can only boot to HOAS with the SD-card inserted in the PI. But HOAS shows 256GB available (the SD card was 64GB so it did change over to the NVME).

But I can’t figure out how to make the Raspberry PI boot without the SD card. Hopefully somebody knows how to fix this. Thanks in advance to everyone!

That option does literally what it says. It uses your SSD for data storage while still depending on the SD card for the OS.

What you should be doing is a complete reinstall direct on the SSD, then restore a backup on the onboarding screen (or after creating a dummy user if that fails)
