I have been using HA for a couple years now, not really using the website or app a lot. I have made automations and I still get notifications that I have setup from time to time, all by all, the system seems to be working. That is also confirmed from IP:4357. But when I try to connect to homeassistant.local:8123 I get no connection. I am pretty frustrated by this, as I was always able to. Could someone help me with this problem?
Can you open the dashboard with .local:8123? (Something like 192.168.1.57:8123)
If so, reboot your router.
No, I was not able to with 192...194:8123.
I remember that I have created backups on the HA, but I think it is a connection problem outside of the HA, as I think the HA is running properly, because I still get notifications, and IP:4357 shows everything is working properly.
Besides that in cmd (I am using windows) using ‘ping homeassistant.local’ I do get a response.
Do you have a reserved IP address on your router for Home Assistant? If not, could the IP address have changed?
I do, and I just checked to be sure, it still has the same IP address.
It does not. It only shows the Operating System and Supervisor are working properly. It does not reflect the health of the Home Assistant application.
What is “the system”? What hardware and what OS? How did you install Home Assistant?
I am unable to find the exact OS as I cannot see any settings, I use a Raspberry pi 4. I followed the documentation for the installing of the OS. Sorry for the lack of information that I am able to provide. Everything seemed to be working since 2022, sometimes I created a backup and once in a while I updated everything via website of http://homeassistant.local:8123/
Can you post an image of the cmd response?
No need to hide your local ip addresses. They provide no usable information that could be used to access your system.
Is your computer logged into the same network as the HA server? I know this is a simple explanation but I have made this mistake a couple of times over the last year.
Yes both my HA server, and computer are indeed on the same network.
