I set up home assistant. Router shows it at 192.168.50.194: 8123. I can’t access it either by the standard find utility or directly putting in the address or any other way that I’ve tried. Not sure what to do at this point. Others seem to feel that you let it sit for a while and it will work. I let it sit for 12 hours still nothing.
Could you try accessing Home Assistant at http://homeassistant.local:8123?
If you can access it, please try disabling IPv6 in Home Assistant:
- Go to Settings → System → Network.
- Select your active network interface.
- Click Configure.
- Disable IPv6 (or set the IPv6 configuration to Disabled, depending on your version).
- Save the changes and allow Home Assistant to restart the network if prompted.
Once that’s done, try opening the link again.
If the issue persists and you have a Nabu Casa subscription, could you also try accessing your instance using your Home Assistant Cloud URL instead and let me know if that works?
It pings fine and the router shows that it’s there. I’ve tried it with two different USB to ethernet plugs and one wireless USB plug. It’s kind of an oddball setup but I’m just trying to see how well it works and how it configures and everything the computer is a chuwy Windows tablet but it only has USB a and c no ethernet ports so I have to use an adapter. That should work though because it shows up on the network, Asus bt-10 and it pings. If it works well I don’t know if I’ll keep this as part of a setup or just buy a box but I wanted to see what it would do to replace all the other hubs that I’ve got that are all going to paid.
What do you get when you ping homeassistant.local?
What is the IP of your router and computer?
How did you install Home Assistant?

Can you reach the observer port it shows on screen? What’s ha core logs -vf say?
Did you use the installation method from the HA docs? (VirtualBox) Or are you using docker?
Did you try http://192.168.50.194:8123 like @stevemann mentioned above? 192.168.50.145 is the server you are running HA on. The tablet(192.168.50.145) is showing on your network, but you may need to adjust how HA is exposed to your network.

@russ47 What I meant was the device might be providing a ping but HAOS may have an issue with the usb to Ethernet device. You haven’t provided any info on previous suggestions.
You’re probably right but I don’t know what the correct answers are. The router sees it. So I have no idea why the interface on a tablet or phone on the same network segment can’t. Just seems very odd. I will admit it’s an odd computer this chewy Windows tablet
There is something weird in the bios I think that is preventing home assistant from running properly. I just bought a ha green so I’ll play with that some more and hopefully a better results
