Would like to find a way to show indoor and outdoor temp on one display, Z2M or Matter.
I have Sonoff outdoor sensor and several, all acurate enough, indoor temp. sensor.
Only one I found so far is Sonoff SNZB 02DR2, but outdoor temp is small.
Eink displays looks nice buy couldn’t find safe path to get those two values in simple way for. me. to set it up.
Position for display has AC if needed just don’t want to spend too much just to add outdoor temp to my living room
Any ideas?
There are some really nice e-paper displays from waveshare that work with esphome
Thanks for link, seems like good solution but I am not sure I would be able to finish that on software side.
Hardware is not a problem, have a 3dprinter to print the housing and my soldering skills are good enough to put it together but programing… uhhh.
Someone made what was basically a drag and drop configurator for displays to use in esphome.
I will post link here if I find it
There are existing configs for a few devices and look in forum as I’m sure others have used them
Great find, looks like perfect for creating simple, two field temps.
Will give it a good look.
Thanks for your time helping me.
You could also look at OpenEPaperlink which is a way to send data to electronic shelf tags (the ones you see in stores).
i have few MHO-C401, beautiful display, big enough for two temps, visible from any angle.
That size and info suffice for my use perfectly.
If I can achieve that with waveshare it would be perfect!!
That tag looks like exact format, what else do I need on hardware side?
Or, is there any similar project to follow how to?
You can flash the tag with a new firmware that should make it compatible with any bluetooth radio in HA.
Or keep the firmware stock and use a ESP32 S3 flashed with OpenEPaperLink BT only firmware and it can communicate with the tag.
I currently have mine on stock firmware
For flashing Epaper tag:
Telink BLE E-Paper Flasher
For flashing ESP32 S3 (tags with stock firmware)
Install OpenEPaperLink (BLE only AP)
Great, I just got Xiao W5500 as bluetooth proxy(very powerful signal with external antena) so can use Bluetooth as well.
I just noticed this.
Maybe the 4.2 is not compatible yet?
This post is old so not sure.
Maybe this is the correct firmware.
I have as said before the stock firmware so I can’t help with the flashing of the tags.
