I have a home assistant green that I have tried to setup today for the first time. I have been unable to install hacs. I followed a YouTube video, tried it several times and each time hacs did not appear on the main menu. I also tried asking Claude. I took the attached screenshot of warnings from the log which might be significant as it says “custom integration hacs which has not been tested by Home Assistant”.
That is not an error and is “normal” behavior. It is just Home Assistant saying: if you use custom things, we cannot be responsible. For every integration you add through HACS, one extra line like this will be added as well.
Well, it looks like it’s installed…
I followed what I think is the full process including adding an integration. You get an 8 character code to input, which I did. I did all this on the app on my Android phone. I’m going to try using our Apple computer. I don’t see why it should make a difference though.
I used the apple app on our MacBook and it worked first time. HACS is now visible also on my Android phone. I just followed the prompts so I don’t know what, if anything, I did wrong previously. Thanks to those who replied.
Sometimes your browser will cache the screen, and a refresh is required to update what is displayed.
