I’ve installed Virtualbox on a server running Windows Server 2025, and have the HAOS running as a VM in Virtualbox. Everything is humming along fine, except for the ZBT-2 adapter I just bought and hooked up to the server. It just won’t be recognized in the HAOS virtual machine at all. I’ve gone into the USB passthrough settings in Virtualbox and when I add a new USB filter, it even shows/recognizes the Nabu Casa ZBT-2 adapter, but again, in the Home Assistant web interface it doesn’t show or recognize any adapters connected at all. Any thoughts?
Did you restart home assistant after you installed it? It may need that to pull in a new integration for the new hardware.
Sure did, several times. One thing that is strange however… When I open Device Manager on the Windows host and unplug and re-connect the ZBT-2, it shows as a “USB Serial Device” with COM3 as the COM port ID. I wonder if I need to map it through to HAOS as a serial device rather than a USB device?
