Can't mount config share from Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL)

I am running HassOS on an Intel NUC.
On my PC, I can mount the config share with:
net use u: \\192.168.1.57\config /user:homeassistant Qjxxxxxxxxxxrb /y

On Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL), I can mount the config share from the command line with:
sudo mount -t drvfs //192.168.1.57/config /mnt/U

What I would LIKE to do is mount the config share using /etc/fstab. But this:
//192.168.1.57/config /mnt/U msdos noserverino,nofail,username=homeassistant,password=Qxxxxxxxxxx7rb,iocharset=utf8,sec=ntlm,vers=1.0 0 0
errors with:

mount: /mnt/U: unknown filesystem type ‘msdos’.

However, msdos is listed in /proc/filesystems. Cifs is not.
Any tips would be appreciated.
