I’m trying to pair my HomePod Mini with HA so that I can use it for TTS.
I’m following the instructions for the HomeKit Device integration. I have added the integration, and HA is detecting the HomePod. But when I try to add it, I get a series of messages saying ‘Pairing not possible’. First for AirPlay, then Companion and RAOP. Here is the full message (for AirPlay).
Thanks for the pointer @sidjohn1 . Not sure why my searches didn’t turn that topic up.
For anyone else reading, this was the solution offered in the topic: “You need to change access setting to allow everyone on the same network to connect. You can do that from the Home app.” That topic is closed now.
I’m confused by the “everyone on the same network” bit. Does this mean I need to: send an invitation from HomeKit to:
everyone who has ever signed on to my LAN?
Those who are signed on to it when I try to do the pairing?
People I have given user / administrator access in Home Assistant?
Or something else?
I’ve tried adding everyone who has access to my HomeKit. That didn’t change anything.
