Hello,
converting my manual car key into a digital entry might open up some Home Assistant fun tricks.
I’m wondering if there’s some FOSS (free (thinking, happy to pay for quality stuff) and open source) linux ideas.
Ultimately managing the car lock/unlock from the app would be great.
If you have a spare key (which works under a button press) you can salvage it and make it remote controllable with esp(home).

Depending of your car/make/model the remote opening might be broken and a SDR dongle even might do the trick ![]()

Thanks, the hardware suggestions I’ll research.
Software will be needed, so I hope Home Assistant has some, o perhaps some Linux FOSS to customise for my digital car key build and automation?
