Card: How to set a row type "entities"

Hello,

I am trying to set up a part of a card to be conditional, listing several entities if the “show more” boolean is selected. The condition works well, but the row itself does not want to show my entities, complaining that “No card type configured”.

Below is my code

type: entities
title: Bathroom
entities:
  - entity: switch.dryer_power
  - entity: button.dryer_remote_start
  - entity: switch.washer_power
  - entity: button.washer_remote_start
  - entity: input_boolean.show_more
    name: Show more
  - type: conditional
    conditions:
      - entity: input_boolean.show_more
        state: "on"
    row:
      type: entities
      entities:
        - entity: sensor.dryer
        - entity: sensor.dryer_current_course
        - entity: binary_sensor.dryer_dry_completed
        - entity: sensor.dryer_dry_level

One way that seemed to work was to use “type: simple-entity”, but that had the limitation of allowing only a single entity to show.

Any advice on how this can be solved, please?

Thank you for your time.

Hi,

You can’t put multiple entities there as far as I know. row is a map, not a list.

row map REQUIRED

type: entities
title: Bathroom
entities:
  - entity: switch.dryer_power
  - entity: button.dryer_remote_start
  - entity: switch.washer_power
  - entity: button.washer_remote_start
  - entity: input_boolean.show_more
    name: Show more
  - type: conditional
    conditions:
      - entity: input_boolean.show_more
        state: "on"
    row:
      entity: sensor.dryer
  - type: conditional
    conditions:
      - entity: input_boolean.show_more
        state: "on"
    row:
      entity: sensor.dryer_current_course
  - type: conditional
    conditions:
      - entity: input_boolean.show_more
        state: "on"
    row:
      entity: binary_sensor.dryer_dry_completed
  - type: conditional
    conditions:
      - entity: input_boolean.show_more
        state: "on"
    row:
      entity: sensor.dryer_dry_level

Multiple entities can only displayed via type: buttons or custom cards that provide stacks.

There is this option which can give you the likes of:

Many thanks @Olivier1974 , @pedolsky , both of your comments were very useful and allowed me to solve the issue.

You’re welcome and, by the way, I never thought about this idea of a “Show more” input_boolean in the entities card.
Very clever idea.
