A general question about dashboard changes requiring browser refresh as I have a couple of Views that show/hide a card based on Visibility criteria (day of week) and also some changes to size or colour of other cards, using card-mod.
Should visual changes due to either card visibility or card_mod cause the Companion app (iOS and Android) to display the ‘dashboard has changed, Refresh?’ (or words to that effect) on the screen?
When I make changes to the code (through UI or YAML), then I expect the browser showing those pages to request a Refresh. It is a bit of a nuisance IMO, but it is what it is. However, if some visual changes have occurred due to either of the above, should that cause the browser to request a Refresh?
That would be a problem with any sort of dynamic effects in any dashboard being displayed. An ‘always on’ kiosk display needs to just run, showing whatever that dashboard has been configured to display and not requiring a manual Refresh just because of some minor change to colour, size, visibility etc, That defeats the whole point of a kiosk type control panel.
I could be entirely wrong about this, but this morning several panels were requesting a Refresh and I had changed NOTHING since yesterday and manually Refreshed then. The only reason I can think of is that either the card visibility or card-mod’s size/colour changes have caused this and before I start a quest to try and prevent that, it would be extremely helpful to know if either of those factors are the cause - or something else entirely that I need to track down.
Can anyone confirm if either or both the above require a browser Refresh?
