Carries Smart Airconditioner integration

Hi, I have a Carrier (42QHG018D8S) Singel split Airco unit. It has a Static IP address, en can be used trough the Carrier/Midea App. This works fine. Because I’m a little alergic for cloud solutions, i would like it to work within my local network using Home Assitant.

I tried to use:
GitHub - mac-zhou/midea-ac-py: This is a custom component for Home Assistant to integrate the Midea Air Conditioners via the Local area network.

However the AC Unit stays unavailable in my Entity List.

Does anyone know the problem and a solution?

These are my only logs

2021-03-28 12:22:14 WARNING (MainThread) [homeassistant.loader] You are using a custom integration midea_ac which has not been tested by Home Assistant. This component might cause stability problems, be sure to disable it if you experience issues with Home Assistant

2021-03-28 12:22:14 WARNING (MainThread) [homeassistant.loader] No ‘version’ key in the manifest file for custom integration ‘midea_ac’. This will not be allowed in a future version of Home Assistant. Please report this to the maintainer of ‘midea_ac’

In the meantime i found out that there is a differce between modules.
I have the SKO103, and this works wit a different protocol than the SKO102.

Does anybod know a solution for this problem?

Hi,
I’m in the same position, have you find a solution for this issue?
Thanks

Hi, I managed to find an older type of the WiFi module for my airco, (osk102). With this module i was able to have it connected to my local network, and integrade it in HA without the need of the cloud enfironment. I also disallowed to have the airco communicate towards internet.
Hope this helps you.

Many thanks @Migaddo, it will be very helpful.

Hi,
I have the same issue but I’ve found some OSK102 modules from the brand ECOX.
Could let me know which brand did you purchase to be able to use your Carrier 42QHG units with HA?

Hi,
Mine is from Carrier itself. But the one i hava also works with some midea an panasonic airconditioners for example. So if the cost for ecox is not to high you might try it.
