I have several mmWave sensor but only a couple that I am actively usuing. It is hard enough to get these tuned for humans. I want to exclude my cats from being detected & triggering the automation. They do have tiles on their collars & was thinking I could accomplish this using the the tile integration. It doesn’t seem to be that easy or maybe i am overthinking it.
I should be able to do this with ESP presence but I have not gotten that far yet. I was looking for a easier solution.
Can you modify the sensitivity or detection zones of these? I would start there.
Its hard enough to simply detect a human that is not moving. Let alone trying to keep
my cats that walk into a room from turning lights on.
TBH I doubt it’s possible to make it sensitive enough to detect a non-moving person but not sensitive enough to not detect a cat.
It’s one of the reasons I haven’t even bothered buying any of the mmWave sensors for presence detection. I have 5 cats. My lights would stay on permanently.
But if you figure it out I might have to give it a try!
