Hello all.
I integrated 17 cameras (which are also recording onto my NX Witness Server) using generic camera and picture glance cards, have also set the cameras to live, but they run like a dog. And to bring them up live I have to tap the thumbnails. Any way of fixing this?
It probably depends a lot on what hardware HA is running on. But 17 camera feeds is a lot of data to process.
Bandwidth issues? That's a lot of data to pump through a network and display simultaneously.
Maybe your expectations were a little skewed?
You haven't given us much to guess what to do about it. Hardware, software, apps, settings?
Most people with large camera setups that I see use Frigate and integrate that with HA.
To add to this; Most also integrate the feeds into a dedicated page using WebRTC Camera as well as Advanced Camera Card when they have issues with the default HLF streams via HA (good enough for snapshots and quick views).
What goal?
Live monitoring
Occasional check
Monitored security
I use frigate added as iframe. I monitor from frigate interface and just added to HA as convenience but not main use or requirement
HA is meant to pull things into a single interface but don’t constrain yourself to only using HA to interface these items as sometimes it is not optimal
