Hi everyone,
I’ve got a challenge that I hope you can help me solve. Here’s the situation:
In my kitchen, I originally had GU10 spots controlled by a Fibaro Dimmer 2, which worked flawlessly. However, I wanted RGB bulbs for more ambiance, so I replaced the “dumb” GU10 spots with Zigbee RGB variants (Signify). Unfortunately, the combination of the Fibaro Dimmer and the pulse switch didn’t play nicely with the new setup.
To resolve this, I removed the Fibaro Dimmer and connected the switched live (black wire) directly to the live wire (brown wire). The spots now work perfectly via Home Assistant using a standalone Zigbee button to trigger scenes.
However, my wife prefers using the original kitchen switch (a Busch-Jaeger). Currently, it’s an on/off switch, but I could easily replace it with a pulse switch if needed.
The challenge:
There’s no neutral wire (blue wire) available at the switch, and running one there isn’t an option. The only wires present are live (brown) and switched live (black).
I’m looking for a solution that allows me to use the existing switch to trigger the Zigbee bulbs via scenes or any other method. I initially thought of using the scene trigger function (parameter 28) on the Fibaro Dimmer, but it won’t work without a connected load.
Does anyone have suggestions for a device I could place behind the switch to achieve this? Ideally, it should integrate well with the Zigbee system and support scene triggering.
Thanks in advance for your ideas!
