I searched and found too many varied results. I am running Ubuntu linux and have Home Assist installed according to the manual install steps. I also have NextCloud running on this server. The Server has 2 NIC’s interfaces and I can move home assist to the other one. How do I do this using SSH command line? I saw I can use nmcli, but not sure of the exact steps.
There are different forms of Home Assistant that can be installed, and I myself can’t speak to all of them, but if you are only interested in how to setup a static IP in Ubuntu using nmcli, then take a look at the following URL and in particular example 9.
You have to create a connection profile with some name, and tell it which Ethernet interface it is to apply to (you may want to use a command like $ip link to figure out the names of your two interfaces). Next with the new profile name, start configuring the interface you want to use to reach your gateway and configure your static ip, gateway, and dns addresses. I have not done this for two interfaces, but for the second interface, you will not need to configure a gateway address nor dns address.
Thanks. It seems that since I installed HA on the same server as Nextcloud, its all Jacked up. The system now locks up and I have to reboot to regain access via SSH.
Not sure what is going on.
I ended up just getting a pi 8GB, same day Amazon and now have that up and running
