Changing my dongle

I’ve been running HA in a VM on a Synology NAS for a year or so, with a Sonoff Dongle Plus -E using EZSB and Z2M. It’s been bugging me for a while to update to Ember, but I’m a bit paranoid about breaking it so decided to buy a new dongle, flash that to Ember, and then change to the new dongle, meaning I can always go back to the old dongle and an HA backup if it goes wrong.

First off, I’ve gone in to the Zigbee2MQTT settings and updated the Port and Adapter to the new ones and restarted MQTT, but when I look at the zigbee2mqtt configuration.yaml file it still shows the old Port and Adapter values. I updated them there as well and restarted but are they redundant in one of the locations?

Secondly, I now have it running, but it doesn’t pick up any of my existing Zigbee devices. I tried pairing a new device and that was fine and it mentioned Ember in the message that flashed up, so the dongle appears to be working ok. However is there a way to persuade it see my existing devices or was I always going to have to re-pair everything doing it this way? If I re-pair everything will they all come up with the previous names or will I need to set everything up from scratch?
