Changing to another dashboard by voice command on iOS

I have an iPad in a stand on my desk with the HA client always active. I would like to be able to change to other dashboards by voice command, instead of having to reach out and touch too small buttons.

Is this possible?

You can use the Shortcuts app on your iPad to switch pages, then use a helper toggle or template switch tied into HomeKit to allow you to “Hey Siri” the shortcut. The idea is “if HomeKit switch called ‘Show Me Cameras’ is turned on, run the shortcut to change HA’s page to Cameras”.

Just a thought. You could also, instead of Shortcuts, use browser-mod and instead of using the HA app, use a web page then browser mod can change pages for you based on a voice command you give to HomeKit that, again, turns on a switch that lets browser mod know you want to switch pages.

Wonderful, that was easier than I thought. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Never heard about shortcuts, that’s one powerful tool!

It was actually as simple as creating a new shortcut >> app Home Assistant >> Open Page >> Select dashboard to open, in my case ‘climate’. Then I could immediately ask Siri to ‘open climate’.

Now to see if I can also switch views within dashboards with shortcuts, otherwise I have to make separate dashboards for every view I want to be able to open like this.

Also found a page very helpful in understanding the flow of things.

Shortcuts is a really nice utility. It was a stand-alone application and Apple bought them out a few years ago, I use it with all sorts of commands. I forgot you don’t need to use HomeKit since I track water intake without HomeKit using shortcuts like “Drink Water” and Shortcuts asks me how many ounces.

You could riff on that and create a variable “Siri, change dashboard” and she can ask “Which dashboard do you want” and you can configure names for your various views.
