Hi
I have a CTEK Chargestorm Connected that check the load on the house to set the load current on the EV charger. The energy meter connected with RS485 to the EV charger is a Carlo Gavazzi EM340.
I also have a Waveshare 16529 that can recieve the messages and import them in HA. In other words I would be able to import the meter readings and then send them back to the EV charger
There is a few thing that would be able to do with this
-
Tibber integration – controlling EV charge current
It would be able to use the Tibber intergration to check when the KW price is low and then modifiy the EM340 message through Home Assistant and simulate that the energy load on the house is higher than it actually is and that would make the EV charger to reduce power or turn it off. -
Solar intergration to controll charger current
It would be able to use the EM340 through Home Assistant and simulate that the energyload on the house is higher than it acually is and controll the power of the EV charger when energy is generated by the solar system. A solarsystem like Solaredge woukd also need to be implemented -
A mix of 1 and 2
Using the above solutions together to make an even better solution
Ferroamp can actually communicate with the EV charger over the LAN. Has anyone used wireshark to see what messages is sent? According to Ferroamp and CTEK they use an OPEN API. Cant this be used?
Buying a Ferroamp HW seems like a expensive way of controlling the EV charger automatically
Does anyone know if the above is possible?
Tibber uses Watty and Easee charger to do this but it is cloud based and only works with Easee EV charger.
