Hello, I’ve been struggling with this problem for weeks now and can’t find a solution. I have a Huawei M3 plugged into the wall with Full Kiosk and HA running. So far, so good. Now the battery has swelled, so I replaced it. To circumvent this again, I wanted to control the charging. I bought a Wi-Fi outlet, etc., but unfortunately, I discovered that HA doesn’t recognize the tablet’s charge level. So I installed the Home Assistant app, but the app doesn’t connect. The tablet is actually too old. It’s running Android 7.
Hence my question: Is there a way, via an app, plug-in, etc., that I can access the battery level via HA and thus control the outlet?
And please, no tips or answers on how to install the app, unless you have the same Huawei Mediapad M3 and have gotten the app to work.
I would be very grateful.
Regards Oli
Home Assistant companion app on Android should run on 5.0 and up.
The Android app is relying on Google WebView however, so check if you can update that service.
