Clean specific area (zone) with Roomba without virtual wall

Hi,

I was looking for a way to program Roomba to clean only part of a house and haven’t found any. 900 series model can map a house. So it should be possible to select a zone (eg.: kitchen or living room) on the map and ask roomba to clean just that area.

Has anybody figured that out?

I know this is a very old thread, but today I had a similar thought.
What I was thinking was doing a DIY virutal wall that is controllable via MQTT.
Would make it really easy to enable/disable areas to clean.
