Clearing message notifications in this forum

How can I clear the notifications in the forums - ie click on icon in top-right corner, and get rid of the messages…?

Forum Keeps Saying I have One Unread Post

For the last few weeks every time I visit the forum, it says I have one unread post. When I switch to the unread tab, there is nothing there and the count goes away. If I come back later, the same thing happens. And if I actually have an unread post, the forum says I have two unread posts. I’ve tried logging out and back in, clearing my browser cache, deleting all the cookies related to the forum, a different browser, and even rebooting my machine.
