CLI up but cannot connect to WEB UI - Connection regused

hi. Short description:
HA OS is installed on VM on windows 10 machine via Virtua Box.

It was running all good, until I turned off my Windows machine (went on holiday).

Now after start up of windows machine, I launch the VM but it does not work properly.

I get that CLI is up and running.

But I cannot connect to WEB UI - as Connection is refused. It is both if I connect via IP (Static, set in router) or via homeassistant.local:8123

if I check the Observer url - I have this:

I tried to restart HA in safe mode:

Basically, HA does not work…
Any suggestions what to do?
Any way to repair/fix etc?

p.s. even previously more or less every second update caused machine not to boot properly… always issues requiring a restart…

The observer UI just shows the status of the OS and Supervisor, not the Home Assistant application.

Enter login and press return at the ha > prompt

Then enter docker ps

Do you see the HA docker container running?

You can get to the home assistant log and previous boot log from
/mnt/data/supervisor/homeassistant/

Check the log for errors.

Just to clarify, by “connect via IP” you mean http://192.168.0.44:8123 , right?

Asking because that’s the current IP of your install, and if the VM magically changed the Mac address, then whatever IP you have stored in your router might not be valid anymore.

yes - it was same 0.44 IP and via URL

I tried core repair - failed, with “see supervisor”

then I repaired/rebuilt Supervisor and then repaired/rebuilt Core and all works…

very strange.

howo to know the underlying issue?

Sorry, can’t help you there. I’ve seen enough issues posted here with windows VMs that I know to stay far away from them.

Hopefully someone with more knowledge on the subject will show up to help answer your question.
